Monday night is about to become a hot bed of entertainment, music and comedy for a cause when “Rock of Ages” star, Mark Shunock, who plays Lonny the narrator in the hit musical at the Venetian, launches “Mondays Dark.”
Shunock will gather an eclectic cast of four to six guests including stars from Hollywood, Vegas headliners, musical acts, athletes and celebrity chefs for 90 minutes of chat, entertainment – and a lot of laughs. Each month “Mondays Dark” will partner with a different Las Vegas-based charity and Shunock’s goal is to raise $10,000 per month for each charity, with an estimated grand total of more $100,000 over the next twelve months.
“As a performer, it’s a way for me to give back to Las Vegas in the only way I know…as an entertainer,” says Shunock. “The premise of the show is old-school Vegas meets new-school Vegas while being very gritty, real and spontaneous.” His plan is to create an evening that raises awareness and funds for a charity while at the same time, being an entertaining evening that people won’t forget.
“I know they are going to be great partners and will help raise a lot of money and awareness for local Las Vegas charities,” says Shunock.
The framework of the evening will be modeled after a talk show format with topics, musical guests and very “off the cuff” moments.
