When London-based singer and songwriter Dan Smith called his band Bastille, he was merely thinking of his birthday, July 14, France’s Bastille Day. After recruiting keyboard player Kyle Simmons, bassist Will Farquarson and drummer Chris ‘Woody’ Wood, the English rock band’s independent debut single “Flaws” scored half a million hits on YouTube. The band was signed by Virgin Records, and after three singles it was selling out its first headline U.K. tour before its album was even released. However, Bastille's true breakthrough came with "Pompeii," selling more than 10 million singles worldwide, and reaching the No. 1 rock song on American radio in 2014. The following album, Bad Blood, came smashing in at No. 1 on the U.K. charts and stayed in the top 20 for two years. Bad Blood achieved double platinum status in the U.K., and gold in the U.S. The band has been nominated for four BRIT Awards, one GRAMMY, two American Music Association awards and a Teen Choice Award in the U.S. for Best Rock Song. Bastille is currently working on its highly anticipated second album, which will be released in spring 2016.
Silversun Pickups is among the most dynamic and creative rock bands of the contemporary era, hailed far and wide for their inimitable merging of ethereal melodies and pure sonic force. From the opening indie rock salvo of 2005′s PIKUL EP to 2012′s far-reaching NECK OF THE WOODS, each successive release has seen the band boldly venture into uncharted terrain, bravely pushing their imagination and ability towards new and surprising summits. Ambitious and anthemic, tracks like “Panic Switch” and “Lazy Eye” have proven modern classics, a guarantee of rare danger and invention amidst the anodyne dross of post-millennial rock. The bands success led to the nomination for Best New Artist at the 2010 GRAMMY Awards. "Silversun Pickups’ first new album in more than three years, BETTER NATURE sees the Silverlake, CA-based band partnering once again with producer Jacknife Lee (U2, Two Door Cinema Club, Crystal Castles), with whom they so successfully collaborated on 2012′s visionary NECK OF THE WOODS Richer, warmer, and more evocative than anything in their prior canon, BETTER NATURE is Silversun Pickups’ most human music thus far." What’s more, the indefatigable quartet have made it their mission to bring their unique music to the people, touring the planet nearly non-stop to reach a devoted and ever-growing international fan following.
Singer and guitar player Zac Carper, bassist Brandon Schwartzel, singer and guitar player Elvis Kuehn and drummer Max Kuehn, collectively known as FIDLAR, emerged in 2009. Influenced by Southern California punk rockers like Offspring and Blink-182, the Los Angeles-based rock band started a homespun label to record material, while embracing the reaches of the Internet to promote their music. In 2012, record label Mom & Pop signed the band and produced the debut album, FIDLAR, the following year. The band’s highly anticipated follow-up album, Too, arrived in 2015.
Los Angeles-based rock band The Moth & The Flame is comprised of Brandon Robbins, Mark Garbett, Andrew Tolman and Michael Goldman. The Moth & The Flame has quickly earned devoted fans and critical acclaim for its brand of lush, atmospheric rock. The band has spent considerable time on the road, most recently alongside longtime friends Imagine Dragons and The Naked and Famous. Additionally, the group has headlined countless shows and made standout festival appearances at international gatherings such as the South By Southwest music festival and the U.K.’s The Great Escape festival. The band will release its debut, full-length album via Elektra Records later this year.
